NORTALFT-20173.pdf’>nortalft-2017nortalft-2017Navratri is more commonly known as the Festival of Nine Nights, when devotees dance and sing garba, and also play dandya Raas. The festival depicts the triumph of good over evil when all the goddesses came to the rescue of their devotees to fight evil.
Durga Astami ( the eighth day) is celebrated by devotees participating in Havan which will take place on Thursday 28th september 2017 from 9.30- 3.30pm approx. You will need to make a donation of £11.25 to the Mandir. If you wish to take part, please contact Vasantbhai Mistry, in person at the Mandir during Navratri or phone for details on 01922 634462.
Please note that for Aatham ONLY, we have taken the step of allowing the 9pm. aarti to be performed only upon receiving a donation for £11.25 in exchange for a token which must be surrendered for an aarti thali which you can take home. The purpose of this is to manage the sheer numbers of people who want to participate, and to ensure that we are able to maintain the safety of all our devotees.

Dandya Raas and Garba for young members Daily from 7.30pm to 8.15pm
Garba – Mixed & All ages – 8.15pm to 9.00pm.
Mataji Aarti 9.00pm
Dandya Raas 9.30 – 10.45pm (Mon- Thurs)
Friday & Saturday 9.30pm till Late
We will be holding a Fancy Dress Competition for children aged between 5 years and 10 years, on Wednesday 27th September. If you have a toddler, aged 5 or over, feel free to dress him/her up and bring along to the Mandir. The timing of the competition will be held before 9.00pm aarti. You will need to register the name of your child with Vasantbhai Mistry.
We will hold a raffle, and you can chance your luck to win one of the many prizes on offer. The draw will take place on Saturday 30th September before nortalft-2017aarti, so hold onto your tickets.. If you are a trader/business person and wish to donate a raffle prize, please contact Vasantbhai Mistry.

    Entry is normally free, the cost only relates to participating in Aarti on Ashtami day.

    No entry fee is charged on any day. We only charge for doing the aarti on Aatham day in the evening in order to control the numbers for Health and Safety.
