Holi Celebration – Sunday 12th March 2017

Holi is the celebration  of the victory of good over evil. Prahlad was a devotee of Lord Krishna. His father, the king did not believe in god, and forbade anyone in his kingdom to worship anyone but him. When the king found out that Prahlad was worshipping Lord Krishna, he got Holika, his sister,  who had a boon that she could not be killed by fire, to sit with him in her lap, and a bonfire was lit around her. Lord Krishna protected Prahlad, but Holika perished.

Sunday 12th March 2017, will be when we celebrate Holi. This will commence in the car park after daily Aarti at 7.00pm in the mandir. Come and join in the fun, and enjoy the atmosphere. You might get some streaks of kanku in your face, or get shot with a water pistol if you are lucky. There will be prasad of Dhani (popcorn) & khajhur (dates). Enjoy the toasted coconut extracted from the Holi (bonfire).

Holi will be celebrated in the mandir car park at approx. 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome for darshan.
